BOLT-ACTION STYLE:
All of our ballpoint pens are bolt-action style.
We do not offer click or twist type pens at this time.
Pens can be used in both the right and left hand.
Pens come installed with standard (oil) black ink only. We do not substitute other colors or ink types into new pens prior to shipment. If you prefer a different ink, please browse our selection of inks to include with your pen order.
MATERIAL TYPES:
- Aluminum: 100% 6061-T6 Grade Aluminum
- Stainless Steel: Grade 304 (austenitic): alloy containing approximately 8% nickel.
- Titanium: Type Ti-6Al-4V (Grade 5) with TC4 Hardness HRC 36.
- Carbon Fiber: Organic polymer sometimes referred to as graphite fiber.
- Zirconium: Hardness 702.
ANATOMY OF OUR BOLT-ACTION PEN
ORIGIN:
SLEAMLESS APPEARANCE:
Our natural, uncoated metal pens have a seamless appearance where the pen cone (tip) attaches to the barrel. Our colored aluminum, stainless, titanium, and zirconium pens are coated creating a slight build on top of the natural metal that does not allow for a totally seamless appearance. Anodized aluminum has a higher build than polymer coated styles, so the seam is often more noticeable. With our copper patina pen, you will see the line or break between the pen cone and pen barrel. PEN GRIP COMPARISON:
Anodized aluminum pens and poly-coated stainless steel, titanium, and zirconium pens offer grip compared to our natural, uncoated metal pens. Poly-coat is thicker than the anodized surface and is intended to provide greater grip. Our copper and brass patina pens have undergone forced oxidation; the patina itself provides some grip.

PERSONALIZATION SERVICE:
Personalization (laser engraved customization) is available for most of our pens at an additional cost of $10 per pen. It is not available for bundled offers. If you do not see the option shown below on the product listing or advertisement, then engraving is not an available option. 
Personalization occurs by passing a heat laser over the surface of the pen to produce etched characters. The vertical layout of the etching provides the largest size characters, the highest readability possible, and an angle that flows with the pen when in writing mode. We offer a six-character limit of letters and numbers in English-language only. No punctuation, graphics, or symbols are available. The default font is Times New Roman in all caps (see font sample below). Personalization is available for the following pen styles:
- Aluminum (standard and slim, not mini version)
- Titanium (both natural and coated)
- Stainless Steel (both natural and coated)
- Zirconium

Engraving on pure metal is dark grey in color. Engraving on aluminum is bright grey; almost white color. Engraving on polymer coated pens is a silver tone. The color coming through on computers and devices may be different due to graphics and lighting. We do not guarantee a color match or color preference for engraving results.
Engraving is not included under our warranty, as we have no control over the conditions under which the user will use/maintain the pen. Engraving does not fade or chip. It can appear to change color over time because of oils on skin and general dirt collecting on pen. It can be cleaned by gently wiping with isopropyl alcohol using a soft microfiber cloth.
We do not provide engraving service for items mailed to us. This includes Bastion brand pens that were previously purchased without engraving.

COMMERCIAL CUSTOMIZATION:
We make limited commercial offers for customization beyond our standard personalization service.
Conditions include:
- Purchase of single product SKU (no combinations of different product types)
- A minimum of 60 units per order
- All units must include the same artwork
- Single line logo artwork (no layers of graphics and text, etc.)
- Artwork ready .eps or .ai vector file, single layer, black only.
